Home interior trend Memphis in Kidsrooms

Maybe you have started to notice - maybe not, but the Memphis design is moving back into our home.
Love it or hate - the Memphis movement has always been impactful with its bright colours mixed with black & white in geometric shapes.
The Memphis movement began in 1980 after Postmodernist designer Ettore Sottsass gathered together a group of like-minded designers working in Milan. The group allegedly took its name from the 1966 Bob Dylan track "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" that was played throughout their meeting. They drew inspiration from such movements as Art Deco and Pop Art,  including styles such as the 1950s Kitsch and futuristic themes.
I grew up in the 80's so I should feel still too close to like it but I have to admit I love it again!
It's bright - it's fun it's - it's modern and would look great in a kids bedroom or playroom!
What do you think?

Paint the walls

.... or paint the floor

Lovely chairs from high end design but you could re-upholster or paint to upcylce something you have already at home...?

.... there is always the soft furnishing to catch a bit of Memphis in your home...
... bedding sets & cushions!

Fantastic Wallpaper Ideas for Kids Rooms

I love a good feature wallpaper in grown up spaces as much as in kids bedrooms and playrooms.
Looking for something tasteful to decorate a full wall is not always easy though I have found some good ones I like to share. Take a look!

Woodland

With some "animal heads" or a bird house the wood comes alive and looks fun.

Maps
Maps are a great way to fill a big wall - decorative but also educational!
(How often have we not looked at our sons wall to find a place we were looking for!)

Doodle walls

Cute surprise

Fake wallpaper - illusion of a brick wall

I think this is a great way if you like to introduce a brick wall in your teenagers room but you do not like to go all the way - a fake brick wall with brick veneer.

Into Plants

I love plants!
outside &  inside
With people wanting to bring the outside in with terrariums, indoor planting and container gardening
Plants don't only belong into grown up spaces - there are a lot of fun ideas which brighten up kidsrooms too!
- Here are a few of my favorites I like to share.

- and some more pretty arrangements -

Rolling Greens | Los Angeles has a one of a kind "arrangement bar" where you can work one on one with a flower barista (yes, I said barista) to create a floral terrarium arrangement to your liking - isn't that great?
