Having three sons helps to be interested in boys haircuts. Preparing them for school start includes a trip to the hairdresser. Here is what my eye caught for this Autumn!

Girls Haircuts & Styles

I have three boys and one girl. Although I love working with boys design in clothes and home interior...girls design is much more varied and inspiring when it comes to what can be done. Over the summer I have more time to try a few new hairstyles out with my daughter.
Hair can look great, either through a great cut, styling or accessorizing - you choose.
Here are a few ideas I picked up from Pinterest.

Busy times

Sometimes life is just running its own course and that is just what happens here at ours.
Towards the end of a school year there are so many end of year performances, parents meetings with teachers and class parents (camping trips have become very popular at our school at the moment), summerfairs and shows to attend - work has to take a step back.
We have also celebrated two birthdays in a month of two of my children...so those are my reasons of abstinence to this blog.
Now I am back and I though I share at least some of the cake creations we (my children and me) worked on!
You can probably guess who chose what cake....yes the social media cupcakes for my 12 year old son who is social media fanatic and the minecraft for my 7 year old. The rainbow cake was an add on for the gay pride weekend when the family came and visited to celebrate.

 Social Media Cupcakes

My son loves Instagram, You tube, facebook and yes - twitter.

 Minecraft Cake
Both my younger children helped me with this cake - it took us 4 hours to complete as not only we baked and iced the cake but Steven, the creeper and the pig had to be shaped out of the sugar icing. We added some sparklers at the top to finish the TNT (dynamite) together with some birthday candles.

and here my favourite stylised photo of the cake....

Play Houses

I have always loved playhouses, as a child and as a grown up.
So as soon as we had a garden we built a playhouse for the children. I have had two boys first who didn't seem to be that interested in the "play kitchen" I installed so it became a pirate shack with a work bench to do handy stuff as pirates have to repair a lot, right...?

Than I had a girl and another boy and the play house became a little home again with kitchen, table, tea set, picture frames and curtains. They seemed to love to pretend play mummy and daddy caring for their babies.

So now they are older again we try to find another purpose for the little intimate space we have in the back of the garden.
We thought we can create a new hangout area to listen to music, read a book, watch movies or a studio to draw and build and be creative. What do you think?

While I was looking around I found these beautiful different play houses - if only I would build a new little house I might have chosen something like this ....

Inspiring Artist Studios

Doing any kind of art...painting, drawing, art journaling....I love it all! I even love going to art stores....joy!

As I am doing more painting & drawing now myself I get more interested in how other artists work. I get so inspired by looking at their studios! It makes me want to paint even more.

Here a few to inspire you:

A messy desk filled with paint & brushes, a plethora of books and unfinished paintings. LOVE IT

sometimes you just have to dig in and get your hands dirty

Studio. Unfussy, a place to create, make a mess. Lots of natural light. Storage allows projects to be kept. Plants add to the living feeling of the space.

This looks nice - sipping coffee while drawing & painting beautiful work, having a big space to work on; art supplies aplenty at your reach, looking elegantly natural, all while overlooking something peaceful.
