vintage children stools & chairs

I love children chairs and if they are vintage - even better!

There are lots of different styles out there:

School chairs - wooden or metal

than there are the decorative or shaker style ones

than there are the designer chairs - lovely Eames chair and an Alcapulco!

Often they bring some eye-catching colour into a childs room.

Lovely creative idea to store and use a chair!

here some fun little stools....

stools for all kind of moments when your little one… needs to be taller …

and taller …

All little extra odd chairs and stool are welcome when there is a party. The more the merrier!

vintage toys

We love mid-century modern interior even in children's nurseries.

We love using old furniture pieces so continuing with that thought we like to share some vintage toys with you.

...Can you remember...

... things to play with...

...for the busy & active ones...

...for musicians...

...for chefs...

We love to encourage playing with REAL toys & games
(There should be a healthy balance between iPad and TV watching. They are essential for a modern child - and there are fantastic creative choices!! - but we keep that for another time!!!)

Isn't it nice to encourage with some vintage toys which stimulate their creativity in a different way and are actually ALSO nice to look at?

If you want to know more about vintage toys - check out these web adresses:

mid century baby nurseries

What comes to you mind when you hear style of mid-1950s?

 Well....
Have a look what we like for our little ones nurseries and where the style influence came from!

Mid century modern baby nurseries
 - clean lines, gentle organic curves and a love of mixing textures.

The style derived from the architectural, interior, product and graphic design of the mid-20th century developments in modern design, architecture and urban development from roughly 1933 to 1965.

We like the classic, understated look, clean lines and minimal with no fuss

The use of wood was of traditional material and the use of color was from neutral to bold

The juxtaposition of different and sometimes contrasting materials makes the look so special

Minimal ornamentation and organic, geometric forms is enough to get the mid century style

Beautiful nursery which shows the clean style, the functionality and the neutral materials

Lovely nursery in an elegant & organic shape

Have you recognized the use of wood was very common but also metal, glass & vinyl

To get the perfect mid century modern nursery use vintage furniture. But if that is tricky there are some new brands which make incredible nice "old style" furniture too.

Avoid too many patterns and stay within the typical color range and

enjoy creating your own mid century nursery for your little sweethearts!
