Art Picnics 4 Kids

I came across something really fun for children to do outdoors which is not sports related, its called ART PICNICS 4 KIDS. 

It is an exciting outdoors art event for children of ages 2 - 8 years old. It is a fantastic day out for the family with young children. Typical Art Picnic is an event of 2 hrs duration that can accommodate up to 40 children, and includes 3 zones; Painting Zone with Printmaking station, Crafts Zone and Messy Play Zone.

They operate in London at the moment but I am sure that this idea will spread around in no time.

If you like the idea but live not in London - why not get together with some friends and create an Art Picnic yourself in your garden? The more mess the merrier and who minds when the mess is outdoors?

A City Holiday With 4 Kids

We are on holiday in Italy!
And not just in Italy at the beach......we did go to Rome as well!
Having 4 kids is great fun though keeping all different ages entertained during holiday can be a challenge. My children's age ranges from 13 years to 5 years - all of them have of course their own interests and agenda not to forget us parents! So there we went to a beautiful farmhouse just outside Rome for a few days which made it easy to take day trips into Rome. We took a bus tour around the city and hopped off and on to see different sites.
We looked at the Forum, the Colosseum, the plazas and even the Vatican City! There was still a lot of walking involved and stair climbing (several thousands it felt to get to the top of St Peters Cathedral!)
What really helped them to keep being interested was taking photos and playing games like "I spy with my little eye".
It was amazing what the kids saw through their camera lens. The most beautiful small details in an overwhelmingly sea of sites. Have a look!
